The Kenyan coast is fringed with gleaming white sandy beaches and the Indian Ocean provides for some of the best diving in the world.
With mountains – Mount Kenya is Africa’s second highest peak – thick equatorial jungle, freshwater and soda based volcanic lakes and the vast desert wilderness to the north of the country, Kenya has it all. Did we mention two of the world’s most fascinating cities, Nairobi and Mombasa?
You may be surprised to hear that there are around forty golf courses in Kenya and the game took off thanks to Aussie Peter Thomson who inaugurated the Kenya Open Golf Championship back in 1967. The event still takes place at Karen Country Club and Muthaiga Golf Club, home of the Kenya Golf Union. The Kenya Open has also been held at Royal Nairobi Golf Club which dates back more than 100 years, so golf is no newcomer to Kenya.
