Martinique
Magnifique Martinique is a slither of France in the tropical Caribbean. With black and white sandy beaches, sugar cane plantations and rainforest interior, Martinique is hardly reminiscent of France. But with croissants and crusty bread on the menu this is certainly a French island.

Martinique’s most famous claim to fame is as the birthplace of the Empress Josephine, wife of Napoleon. Not far from Trois Ilets town is the only golf course on Martiniique, which was once called Golf de L'Impératrice Joséphine after the Empress. Today, the club is simply known as the Martinique Golf and Country Club and this Robert Trent Jones layout is definitely worth playing.
