Botswana
If you like things wild, then you’ll love Botswana. The roads are dusty (if you can find them) and it’s a wilderness of Kalahari Desert, salt pans and wetlands where the wild Okavango River delta is home to some of the Africa’s most stunning wildlife. Botswana is one of the world's richest sources of diamonds and there are a number of golf clubs in Botswana where the lack of grass is the biggest problem. The greens, or should we say browns are rolled and brushed and Bob’s your uncle.

But things are changing. Botswana is rapidly becoming a hot golfing destination and that’s not just due to the climate. There are approximately a dozen courses here and the best is located close to Botswana's capital city, Gaborone. Phakalane Golf Resort is an imaginative 18-hole championship course and it’s actually rather good.
