Tonga
Tonga - the “Friendly Islands” - is an archipelago in the South Pacific Ocean which comprises 176 islands (most of which are uninhabited) that stretch out over a distance of around 500 miles in a north-south direction. Independent from British protection since 1970, the Kingdom of Tonga (as it’s formally known) is home to around 100,000 people, though double that number are thought to send monthly remittances home from their workplaces overseas.

Tonga Golf Club’s 9-hole Manamo’ui golf course is located in Ha’ateiho, just off the main road between Nuku’alofa, the capital, and Fua Amotu International airport. Measuring 2,241-yards, this short par 35 layout began life as a 6-hole course in 1979, expanding to nine holes twenty years later.
