Grenada

On his third voyage to the New World in 1498, Columbus named Grenada “Concepcion”. A hundred or so years later the British tried to colonise Grenada but the cannibalistic Carib Indians frightened them off. Some fifty years later, the French arrived with bottles of brandy to calm the hungry Caribs. After a fierce battle the French eventually prevailed after the Caribs threw themselves off the clifftops rather than submit.

The Grenada Golf Club is where all the golf happens and here you can hire a set of clubs and tee it up. Measuring 2,673 yards from the back markers, this layout has been entertaining golfers since it first opened for play in 1936. Panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea come free with the modest green fee at Grenada Golf Club.

Construction work started in 2022 on a new course next to the Levera National Park, in the northeast corner of the island. The 18-hole Robert Trent Jones Jr-designed layout will be the sporting centrepiece of the Heng Sheng Group’s new development at the Levera National Resort which will also include a 500-room 5-star hotel, outdoor pool, casino and marina.
