Tajikistan
Located deep into Central Asia, Tajikistan became independent of the Soviet Union in 1991 but the nation became embroiled almost immediately into a costly civil war that lasted all of five years and claimed more than 50,000 lives. Today, the country is a safe and stable place to visit and one of its eco-tourist options, travelling the high-altitude Pamir Highway, is regarded by intrepid travellers as one of the world’s greatest road trips.

As far as golf facilities are concerned, there’s meant to be a club named Sogdiana in the capital city of Dushanbe but we’ve been unable to find out anything about it. We’d be grateful for any information that you may have about this course as our inquiries - which include contacting the Tajikistan Embassy in London - have so far drawn a blank.
