Saipan competes with Guam for the large number of Japanese and South Korean tourists who flock to its shores and it has the distinction of being the fastest growing island in Micronesia. Guam attracts most of the the Japanese visitors, with Saipan the destination of choice for the majority of holidaymakers who arrive from South Korea.
There are only six golf courses on Saipan, but the quality belies the island's diminutive nature.
