Venezuela
The tropical Venezuela extends to more than 900,000 km² and it’s one of Latin America’s most diverse countries. It has Lake Maracaibo – South America's biggest lake – the highest waterfall in the world (Angel Falls) and some of the most beautiful landscapes you'll ever see.

The tropical Venezuela extends to more than 900,000 km² and it’s one of Latin America’s most diverse countries. It has Lake Maracaibo – South America's biggest lake – the highest waterfall in the world (Angel Falls) and some of the most beautiful landscapes you'll ever see.
There are steamy Amazonian jungles in the south, snowy peaks of the Andes in the west, the strangely beautiful Gran Sabana plateau with its odd truncated mountains in the east and miles of Caribbean coastal white sand beaches fringed with coconut palms.
The FVG – Federación Venezolana de Golf – is very active and has over 20 affiliated golf clubs and thousands of members. At the moment there's certainly some very good golf to be played in Spanish-speaking Venezuela, but if President Hugo Chavez had had his way when he ruled the country between 199 and 2013 then many of the country's golf courses would have been closed and turned over to the poor for crop production.
Our Venezuela rankings were last updated in February 2017.
