If you’re looking for a location with a difference and want to visit the homeland of the Cape Verdean popular singer and “barefoot diva”, Cesária Évora, look no further than the valleys, volcanoes and pristine white beaches of the emerging Cape Verde.
The best golf course in Cape Verde (according to Golf Digest) is at Mindelo but you won’t find much grass here as the putting surfaces are mud browns rather than grass greens. However all of that may soon change. South African golfer Ernie Els, in association with the Irish company Cape Verde Development, is to design four courses as part of a £1.75 billion scheme to establish Cape Verde as a new golf destination.
