Uzbekistan
One of only two doubly landlocked countries in the whole world, Uzbekistan is situated on the ancient Great Silk Road between Europe and Asia. Part of the Soviet Union until 1991, the country has plentiful reserves of gold, uranium, oil and natural gas and most of these natural resources are exported to earn much sought after foreign income for the government.

You’ll find the only 18-hole golf course in Uzbekistan at Tashkent Lakeside Golf Club, 11 miles south east of the capital city. Opened in 1998, the eighteen fairways at this facility are routed around a couple of large lakes on a generous 265-acre property.
