The North is the longer and tougher of the two 18-hole courses that were laid out at Woodmont Country Club in the 1950s. Both Bob Cupp and Arthur Hills have since renovated the layout.
In August 2020 Woodmont Country Club's North course staged the 120th U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship when Rose Zhang needed 38 holes to beat defending champion Gabriela Ruffels in the second-longest match in championship history.
