Squeezed into a tight and rather hilly property, the course at Whitemarsh Valley Country Club hosted the 1934 U.S. Women's Amateur and the Philadelphia Open between 1963 and 1980. Five of its holes utilize the Wissahickon Creek as an intimidating water hazard.
Originally designed by Philadelphian George C. Thomas Jr. in 1908, Whitemarsh Valley was later revised by William Flynn and then by Donald Ross in 1930. Andrew Green performed a sympathetic renovation in 2015 when he expanded the green complexes to their original sizes, rebuilt all bunkers and oversaw a tree removal project.
