Twin Dolphin
Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur- AddressPlaya Sta. María, 23473 Cabo San Lucas, B.C.S., Mexico
Twin Dolphin Club lies close to Cabo San Lucas, where the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific Ocean on the southern tip of Baja California Sur. Unveiled in 2018, it’s a collaboration between Todd Eckenrode of Origins Golf Design and professional golfer Fred Couples.
The course is laid out on high terraced terrain overlooking the coastline, with fairways routed along and across rugged arroyos, bounded by native vegetation and rock formations, and there are fabulous ocean views to be enjoyed on just about every hole.
According to author Paul Daley in Golf Architecture: A Worldwide Perspective (Volume 7), “rumpled fairways, natural-styled bunkering and short-cut fairway heights throughout, significantly add to the appeal of this new, world-class par-72 layout”.
Highlight holes include the right doglegging par five 2nd (playing away from the clubhouse towards the coast; the par three 8th (crossing sandy scrubland to a raised green protected by a big front-left bunker); and the uphill par four 10th, where a deep arroyo slashes across at an angle as the fairway heads to the green.
