Unveiled in 1990, the course at Triple Crown Country Club is a Gene Bates design that has hosted a number of important tournaments, including the Greater Cincinnati Metropolitan Open Championship and the Kentucky Amateur.
Located between Union and Richwood in Boone County, you’ll hardly find a more challenging layout in the local area. Measuring all of 7,108 yards from the back tees, with a slope rating of 142, this is a tough test for golfers of all abilities.
Tees, fairways and greens are carpeted in bent grass, while the rough consists of a mixture of Kentucky bluegrass and fescues to add greater definition to the closely mown areas. Playing conditions are always of the highest order when teeing it up here.
No fewer than nine of the fairways dogleg from right to left and those who can shape a draw shot off the tee will have a distinct advantage when playing here as the par four 9th and par five 10th are the only two holes on the card favouring a faded tee shot.
