The old walled city of Cartagena dates as far back to the 16th century and it’s a UNESCO World Heritage site which is located on the north coast of Colombia in the Caribbean coast region of the country.

Just a short 45-minute drive further north, TPC Cartagena at Karibana is only the second licensed TPC property to open in Latin America (following TPC Cancun in Mexico) and the 18-hole layout forms the centerpiece of a 360-acre real estate development.

Opened in October 2014, the course hosted the first Cartagena de Indias at Karibana Championship on the Web.com Tour the following year, an event won by Texan Andrew Landry at something of a canter as he finished five strokes ahead of the field.

The front nine holes are situated inland, on the edge of a small forest, with fairways routed around six man-made lakes. The back nine – configured as three par threes, three par fours and three par fives – is more open, flirting with yet more water along the coast.

In December 2016, national golfing hero Camilo Villegas and rookie Colombian pro Juan Sebastián Muñoz were joined by Major winners Ernie Els and Angel Cabrera in a Skins Game to publicise the golf facility, with Villegas scooping $190,000 of the prize pot.
