Tahko (Old)

Outdoor sporting pursuits are second nature to Finns in this area and golf competes for the attention of participants in the summer months against the likes of horse riding, fishing, hiking, and mountain biking. Such is the popularity of golf, however, a second 18-hole course was inaugurated at Tahko in 2008.

The Old course measures almost 6,700 yards from the back tees and the front nine holes are carved out of trees, over variable terrain, a little way in from the lake, with only the par three 7th hole perched right on the water’s edge. The back nine gently rises and falls in much the same way as the outward half, only this time, the lakeside pleasure is trebled with three holes between the par three 12th and par four 14th set right on the shore.
