Sunbrook (Pointe and Woodbridge)
St. George, Utah- Address2366 W Sunbrook Dr, St. George, UT 84770, USA
The city of St. George has become a tourist destination, and it’s developed a golf scene to match. That includes municipal offerings, among which is the 27-hole complex at Sunbrook Golf Club. Ted Robinson added a third nine, the Black Rock, but it’s the Pointe and Woodbridge nines that make up the most popular route here.
Still, the name of the third course is a good reference point for what makes Sunbrook so popular: Black lava rock from historic volcanic activity offers scenery not easily replicated. The sand at Sunbrook is also recognizable for its color, a dark red that matches with the famous red stone rock formations of the region.
Playing 6,900 yards from the back tees, this combination of nines offers low handicappers the ability to earn birdies or throw bogeys away. Hole No. 12 certainly seems attainable, being a par five measuring less than 450 yards from the back tees. As you may have guessed, it’s a climb all the way. Once you’ve finished putting, you’ll turn around and play a 200-yard downhill shot to an island green.
