Tom Fazio is reported to have shifted more than one and a half million cubic yards of earth when he created the golf course at Shooting Star and the routing of this 18-hole layout brings a number of creeks and small lakes into play at thirteen of the holes.

The course is bounded on one side by the Teton Range and the ski resort of Jackson Hole – with land on the other side occupied by the Snake River Ranch – and it lies at the heart of an upmarket residential development established by the owner, John Resor.

A pair of par five holes provides the golfing highlights at Shooting Star.

At the 594-yard 3rd, a creek meanders down the right side of the fairway before threatening the approach shot as it crosses in front of the green. On the back nine, a sizeable lake offers further aquatic challenge, flirting as it does with the left side of the 644-yard 15th all the way from tee to green.
