Unlike neighbouring Sweden, golf in Finland took off very late in life. Today there are more than 100 Finnish courses and Ruuhikoski is one from the top drawer.

Robert Trent Jones Jnr designed Ruuhikoski and the course opened for play in 1992. We’re not entirely sure, but we think Kyle Phillips was involved with Ruuhikoski at some point, so if you can throw any light on things we’d love to hear from you.

There is plenty of variation at Ruuhikoski to keep everyone entertained with some holes in open country and others cut through swathes of pines. The course is set in quiet isolation, which simply adds to the charm. There is no doubt that keen golfers will enjoy Ruuhikoski but make sure you come here during the long summer otherwise you will need to bring your skis.
