The New course at Prosper Golf Resort is actually not much younger than the Old course. In fact, the homeward nine dates back to 2001, as does the back nine of the Old course. The European course (or the Middle course as it is sometimes called) is the original 18-hole layout at Prosper Golf Resort and it’s this configuration that formed the 2011 Czech Open course.
The No.1 Czech Republic course might be Prosper’s European course, but this composite layout is only playable by teeing it up in a 36-hole combination of both the Old and New courses.
The main issue with both the Old and New courses is that their front nines are a little disjointed from the homeward halves. New land was made available for the outward nines and holes 1 to 9 on the New course are rather too open in aspect and a little too up and down their routing. However, the New is a challenging course that will test the best. Multiple tee positions allow the course to be stretched to more than 7,100 yards from the tips. Water hazards, plenty of irregular shaped bunkers and large greens, many of which are multi-tiered, are the main features of the New course.
This area of the eastern Czech Republic is guarded by the Beskydy Mountains where dense forests cling to the slopes. It’s a lovely backcloth for a notable resort that offers comfortable accommodation in the hotel and even horse riding from the onsite ranch. Prosper doubles up in the winter months as a quality ski resort with nine slopes and eleven ski lifts, so make sure you pack the correct sports equipment for the time of year.
