Pinjarra
Pinjarra, Western Australia- AddressPinjarra Rd &, Sutton St, Pinjarra WA 6208, Australia
Pinjarra Golf Club moved to its current location in 1938, establishing an initial 9-hole course. When a further 35 adjoining acres were purchased in 1963, Murray Dawson was called in to fashion the 18-hole layout that’s still in play today.
Occupying a compact, 110-acre property, the course at Pinjarra measures a shade under 6,000 metres from the back tees, with par set at 72. Fairways are laid out as two returning nines and water comes into play in the form of ponds at half the holes on the card, most noticeably on three of the opening four holes and at all three closing holes.
Highlights at Pinjarra include both par threes on the front nine: the 127-metre 2nd features a pond and a couple of bunkers to the front of the green whilst the 167-metre 4th has a little lake positioned to the right of the putting surface. On the back nine, there’s water to avoid on either side of the fairway at the right doglegging par four 16th before reaching the heavily contoured green.
