Pickala (Seaside)
Siuntio, Finland- AddressGolfkuja 5, 02580 Siuntio, Finland
The three 18-hole courses at Pickala Golf Club are part of the Pickala Village holiday resort golf facility which also includes a partly covered range, putting and pitching greens, short game area and practice course.
The Seaside and Park courses were constructed in 1987 and 1991 by Reijo Hillberg and the Forest course (routed around the perimeter of the forested, hilly property) completed the 54-hole set up when it was built by Jan Sederholm in 2004.
Don’t be fooled by the Seaside name, as most of its holes are parkland in nature, positioned alongside many of the Park holes. In fact, only the back nine of the Seaside are routed anywhere near the coastline – and only the 13th and 14th are actually close to the water’s edge!
The toughest hole on the card is the 527-yard 16th where ponds either side of the fairway landing area threaten the tee shot. The hole then doglegs right with out of bounds down that side to catch pushed approach shots. Surprisingly, the final hole is a short par three measuring only 151 yards, with water and a large bunker to the left and two further bunkers on the right side of the green.
