The three 18-hole courses at Real Novo Sancti Petri Golf Club form one of the largest golf resorts in Spain and the “B” course, completed in 2001, was part of an original 27-hole complex that opened in 1990. The “C” course at neighbouring Campano was expanded to an 18-hole course in 2007 so golfers in this part of the Costa de la Luz have plenty of good courses to choose from.

The course is mainly parkland in nature (several fairways are bounded by pine trees) and is laid out as six par threes, six par fours and six par fives. The B layout comprises holes 1 to 4 of the original Centro nine then nine new holes before returning to the old holes 5 to 9 which are now played as 14 to 18.

Water hazards come into play at holes 5 and 8 on the front nine and holes 14 and 16 on the back nine. In between these two sets of holes, many consider the best sea view on the whole property to be had at the par five 11th, where the green will only hold a very precise approach shot.

The course designer has left his indelible mark on the last hole by incorporating a bunker in the shape of an “S” for Severiano – as if anyone who visits here would ever let it slip their mind that they were playing a Ballesteros course designed by Spain’s most prolific golfer!
