Originally designed by Kim Myong-gil and Song Ho, Namchon Golf Club was established by golf enthusiast Seung-hyun Nam and this private club is one of Korean’s exclusive gems.

Described as “a Korean garden in the middle of the mountains,” the course was renovated in 2016 by Kyle Phillips, who remodelled the 3rd, 14th and 17th holes, in addition to redesigning the par threes at #4 and #12.

The island green at the 510-yard par five 17th is not only a challenging and memorable hole, it was also voted the “most beautiful” par five by a local golf magazine.

Namchon Golf Club hosted the KB Financial Star Championship on the LPGA of Korea Tour in 2014 and 2015 and if you’re lucky enough to receive an invite to the club, it’s worth taking a look at the private art gallery in the basement of the clubhouse.
