Set on the eastern shore of Lake Michigan, Lost Dunes Golf Club, designed by Tom Doak, is set dramatically in a former sand quarry with towering dunes surrounding it.

With ultra wide fairways you’d expect Lost Dunes to be a pushover, but your putting will need to be at its very best to card a decent score. These greens – and their strategic bunkering – are perhaps Doak’s most outrageous. Putting on these surfaces will leave you questioning your eyesight. You’ll need to be very lucky or get to know them intimately before reducing the multitude of three, four and maybe more putts!

Visually, Lost Dunes is a striking course and its only drawback is perhaps Interstate 94 which dissects it creating a couple of long walks to the tee.
