- Championships hosted
Los Lagartos Country Club – opened in 1969 – was one of the first courses in Argentina to be designed in an American-style with wide fairways, expansive tees and plenty of length. When the rough is up it puts a lot of pressure on those that want to gain distance.
Designed by Alberto and Emilio Serra, Los Lagartos also has large and fast greens and was home to the Professional Open (from 1991 to 1995). This 27-hole facility is divided into three independent 9-hole loops, called La Vieja, Del Agua and La Larga. Every year the best amateurs from all over the world compete for the Tailhade Cup.
Hole three on La Vieja (the Old course) is a par three with a relatively wide hazard that forces the player to hit a long shot across the water.
