Links at Greystone
Walworth, New York- Address1400 Atlantic Ave, Walworth, NY 14568, USA
One of Craig Schreiner’s first original designs came just east of Rochester, NY with the creation of The Links at Greystone.
The course will test the mettle of golfers on multiple levels...both in the number of challenging hazards as well as the hike...a number of holes will have players traveling significantly uphill. The true distance of the course comes out to more than 7,200 yards but it may feel like significantly more.
The title gray stones literally reinforce the difficulty during the closing holes on both nines. The stone acts as a wall holding up the fairways above the reservoir closest to the clubhouse. One the No. 9 hole, players must avoid going right to lest they end up wet, while during No. 18 they’ll have no choice but to make a 50-yard carry to reach the large putting surface (which is connected at the back to No. 9’s green). It’s not recommended that you attempt a carry to the decorative green that’s been built up in the lake on the same stones.
Don’t let the penal hazards steal all of your attention, however: The putting surfaces are equally demanding.
