Rankings

Operated by Niagara Parks just outside Niagara Falls, the 45-hole golf facility at Legends on the Niagara features 18-designs from Doug Carrick (“Battlefield”) and Tom McBroom (“Ussher’s Creek”), along with the Chippawa Executive 9-hole course.

Host venue for the 2004 Canadian Ladies Open which was won for the third time by Meg Mallon, the Battlefield course is so named because The Battle of Chippawa (fought on 5th July 1814 during the War of 1812) took place on land bordering the property.

The layout extends to 7,309 yards from the championship tees, playing to a par of 72, with holes arranged as two returning nines which conclude on either side of a lake positioned in front of the clubhouse. Water also comes into play on #7 and #8, along with #16 and #17 on the back nine.

Highlight holes include the tough par four 2nd (rated stroke index 2), the heavily sand-protected par three 14th (with the green fronted by a small creek), and the par five closing hole which features three beach bunkers and an S-shaped home green.
