The golf course at Lakeside Golf Club Camden is a Thomson, Perrett and Wolveridge production from the early 1990s which was part of a large construction project for Japanese owners, the Kosaido Development Company.

Designed in a links style, with open fairways and few trees, the course stretches to over 6,000 metres from the back markers. Water, as the name of the golf facility suggests, comes into play at several holes on both nines.

In 2012, the club amalgamated with three other sports clubs under the banner of “Wests Group Macarthur” to provide golf, tennis and rugby league participation across several different locations in the Campbelltown area.

When contacted in January 2021, architect James Wilcher told us:

“Over the last seven or eight years we have been rebuilding and moving some greens as a result of a grand plan where the club gave up some land for development. Four completely new holes were built in an adjacent paddock paid for by the developer and Greg Norman did those four holes.

We are currently building the five other holes that require wholesale change and they should be finished in about four months. Once done, the entire course will have been rebuilt with fourteen holes done by us and four by Greg Norman. Only eight holes remain largely within the original corridors.”
