The Capitan de Corbeta Carlos A. Curbelo international airport is situated on a narrow strip of land that separates Laguna del Sauce from the Rio de la Plata. Close to the airfield, the Arboretum Lussich was established in the late 19th century and nestled within this densely forested area, you’ll find the fairways of the Club del Lago Golf.
Enrique Serra designed the course here in 1983 and it can be configured in three different playing options (A, B or C) which weave between the trees on a free-draining, sandy site. Half a dozen artificial lakes were fashioned during construction of the layout and a few of these water features are brought into play during the round.
In recent years, architect Angel Reartes added more holes to the layout - linking a hotel on the shores of the lake to the original fairways – so that there are now twenty holes on the property.
