GolfStream Kiev (Chamberlain)

Bordering the Klavdiyev forest, the Chamberlain’s a tough track that’s routed around a number of wetlands and other water hazards. One of its most memorable holes is the 187-yard par three 7th that plays to a small peninsular green on one of the lakes.

Peter Chamberlain, course architect, commented as follows:

The whole project has been completely master-planned by my company Tema. The concept is to have a timeless "growing facility" that comprises a 9-hole par 24 course that is shaped but with no rough and a second nine that’s an average challenge level par 36 course.

The 18-hole Chamberlain course is of high international challenge with a par of 72. There are lakes or streams on ten of the holes which are set predominately in the lower part of the property with slight up and downhill holes connecting to the clubhouse area.

The course’s most challenging golf hole - I try to avoid using the word "difficult" as it is not part of our design philosophy! - is possibly the par five 5th hole which has a split fairway, giving the player a choice of a shorter, straighter playing line with a wider fairway but with a longer approach shot over water OR a longer play line around the water with narrower target areas.

We were alerted to the effects of the current conflict in Ukraine by a reviewer at the end of August 2022 when they posted:

I have just been on the website for this course. Sadly, much of it has been heavily damaged by the Russian army during the 2022 invasion of Ukraine, with 'more than 360 units of the enemy equipment' being on both courses and the facilities being damaged or destroyed.
