Kendleshire (Hollows & Ruffet)
Bristol, England- AddressThe Kendleshire, Henfield Rd, Coalpit Heath, Bristol BS36 2UY, UK
Opened for business in May 1997, with an 18-hole golf course designed by Adrian Stiff, The Kendleshire Golf Club has since developed into a 27-hole golf facility, thanks to the addition of a shorter third nine (named the Badminton course) by Peter McEvoy in 2001.
The Hollows and Ruffet nines form the original course and this testing track has been used on several occasions to host Euro Pro Tour events for professionals. Water comes into the reckoning at four Hollows holes, with the signature 2nd hole on the Ruffet played to an island green.
The overall yardage for the Hollows and Ruffet combination is 6,599 yards, with par set at 71 and a standard scratch score of 73 so don’t expect a walk in the park if you tee it up here. Avoid the sand and water hazards at all cost to score well here, otherwise you might toil on this technically demanding layout.
