Rankings

The Bleu and Blanc nines at the 27-hole Club de golf Islesmere were laid out by Willie Park Junior back in 1919 and this fine old course has hosted both the Canadian Open (in 1959) and Canadian Women’s Open (in 1987). Stan Leonard also won the second of his eight Canadian PGA championships here in 1941.

Quebec architect Howard Watson added the Rouge nine in more recent times but it’s the original Bleu and Blanc combination that remains the 18-hole course of first choice here. Measuring a combined yardage of 6,395 yards and playing to a par of 72, the course features two par threes and two par fives on each nine.

Feature holes include back-to-back par fives at the 1st and 2nd on the Bleu, along with the right doglegging par four 4th on the Bleu, laid out along the northern perimeter of the property. On the slightly longer Blanc nine, both the short holes at the 4th and 8th play through tight avenues of trees to heavily sand-protected greens.
