Many trees flank the narrow fairways, making accuracy at Helsingor the order of the day. Forty bunkers, lakes and streams provide for interest, variation and excitement during a round in this lovely parkland setting.
Anders Amilion originally laid out the course at Helsingør, which was later modified in the 1960s by Commander John Harris and more recently by former European Tour player Anders Sørensen, who left his mark by refashioning the 13th hole.
In 2006, Helsingør hosted the Scandinavian Senior Open, where a number of former Ryder Cup players featured at the top of the leaderboard, but it was Katsuyoshi Tomori from Japan who came through to claim the title. Professional golf returned to Helsingør in 2007 in the shape of the Ladies European Tour Nykredit Masters which was won by Englishwoman, Lisa Hall.
