- Address1910 Donnybrook Rd, Yan Yean VIC 3755, Australia
Situated close to Yan Yean Reservoir, the first water storage location in Melbourne dating back to 1853, the Growling Frog Golf Course is a Graham Marsh design set out across 280 acres of bush and wetlands, with mature river red gum trees dotted around the property.
Opened for business in 2004, the layout extends to 6,185 metres from the back markers, configured as two returning nines. Strangely, Barbers Creek, which winds through the property, is never brought into play at any time on any of the holes.
Holes to look out for include the right doglegging 6th (the toughest hole on the front nine) and the longest of the par threes at the 188-metre 16th. The 400-metre 18th is difficult par four (rated stroke index 1), swinging left off the tee towards the home green.
