Produced by the PT Karabha Digdaya development company, the Arnold Palmer-designed River and Lake nines at Emeralda Golf Club were originally billed as the 18-hole South course when they were first unveiled in 1994.

Nicklaus Design’s Plantation nine followed shortly after – the first of two loops intended to form the North course – but the fourth and final 9-hole circuit at Emeralda has so far never left the Golden Bear’s drawing board.

The 27-hole complex first hosted the Indonesia Open in 2006 (when England’s Simon Dyson won the tournament) then it held the competition again in 2012, when, for the first time, the event was co-sanctioned by the OneAsia Tour and the Japan Golf Tour as part of a three-year deal.
