Els Club Desaru Coast (Valley)
Pasir Gudang, Johor- Address2, 2, Jalan Pantai, Kampung Pasir Putih, 81700 Pasir Gudang, Johor, Malaysia
The 27-hole Ocean course was the first layout to open at the Els Club Desaru Coast complex in November 2016, followed five months later by the 18-hole Valley course, which the Big Easy designed in collaboration with his friend and fellow Major winner, Vijay Singh.
The 45-hole Desaru Coast facility lies to the southeast of peninsular Malaysia, where these two fabulous golf courses have been fashioned within an enormous 4,000-acre Johor property that encompasses an astonishing 17-kilometre sweep of coastline facing onto the South China Sea.
At the moment, access to the Desaru Coast resort from Singapore requires a 2-hour drive by car but there are plans to bring a 30-minute direct ferry service into operation in the near future. The golf complex offers state-of-the-art amenities, including two clubhouses and extensive practice areas.
“Opening the Valley course is a major step forward in realising the vision of Desaru Coast, and to have The Els Club brand as the first in a long-line of major developments at this special destination is a real privilege,” commented Ernie. “Ever since we embarked on this project, we have maintained our focus on the end product; one with excellence and distinction.”
