Located on Vancouver Island, the course at Duncan Meadows was bought out of bankruptcy by current owners Grace and Ming Hui back in 1996. Such is the quality of their layout nowadays, it hosted the Canadian Women’s Amateur in 2011 then the Canadian Men’s Amateur in 2018.
Rebecca Lee-Bentham from Toronto beat American lee Lopez on the first play-off hole to win the 98th edition of the Canadian Women’s Amateur in 2011 then American Zach Bauchou successfully defended his Canadian Men's Amateur title at Duncan Meadows seven years later with a four-round total of 266 (18-under-par).
The course extends to 6,616 yards from the championship tees, playing to a par of 72, with holes arranged as two returning nines. Highlight holes include the par four 2nd (rated stroke index 2); the right doglegging par four 6th (regarded as the signature hole); and the par three/par four/par three sequence from the 14th to 16th (marketed as the club’s “Amen Corner”).
