Dakota Dunes Country Club
Dakota Dunes, South Dakota- Address960 Dakota Dunes Blvd, Dakota Dunes, SD 57049, USA
Bounded by the mighty Missouri River to the south of a massive 2,000-acre property, the 18-hole golf course at Dakota Dunes Country Club lies within a large residential and business park development in the south east extremity of The Mount Rushmore State.
Arnold Palmer with Ed Seay designed the course and it debuted in 1991 when Arnie played a round to officially open the layout. It then became a fixture on the PGA Nationwide Tour for almost a decade when it hosted the Dakota Dunes Open between 1993 and 2001.
It was widely acknowledged during the days of that tournament that the 463-yard, par four 9th was one of the toughest holes on the card; thanks mainly to the large waste bunker that runs to the left of the narrow landing area on the fairway and the cunning undulations of a fiendishly contoured two-tier green.
