Country Club of Jackson (Dogwood & Azalea)
Jackson, Mississippi- Address345 St Andrews Dr, Jackson, MS 39211, USA
Founded in 1914 the Country Club of Jackson started out with a Tom Bendelow-designed course located five miles to the west of downtown Jackson. In the late 1950s, the club purchased a 400-acre property to the northeast of Mississippi’s capital city and enlisted Dick Wilson to lay out a course for the members, which opened for play in the early 1960s.
A number of unremarkable renovation projects endured over the years, so the members decided in 2008 to refashion the main 18-hole course under the architectural stewardship of John Faught in a more classical Donald Ross-like style.
The Country Club of Jackson marked its centenary in 2014 by hosting the Sanderson Farms Championship which has been contested over the renovated Dogwood and Azalea nines ever since.
