Located within a beautiful 140-acre estate close to the Fontainebleau forest, the 18-hole layout at Châteaux de Cély is a Marc Adam and Patrick Fromanger co-design that has welcomed visiting golfers since 1990.

Measuring 5,856 metres and playing to a par of 72, the layout features a number of inter-connected water hazards, a few of which are framed by bunkers styled as long, sandy waste areas. Most of the fairways are tree-lined, with a few slopes to climb during the round.

Highlight holes include the first and the last of the par threes: the former, at the 5th, requires a tee shot carry over water to a boomerang-shaped green that’s fronted by three small bunkers and the latter, at the 17th, plays to a large, offset green with a bunker protecting the front right side of the putting surface.

The returning nines finish in fine style with testing par four holes, where the 9th and 18th greens lie on either side of a lake in front of the clubhouse – and for those who play their approach shots too far wide of the water, there are greenside bunkers lying in wait on both holes.
