It was during a trip to the 1982 US Open at Pebble Beach that Don Noseworthy, one of the three founding members of Camelot, decided to build his own golf course. On returning to Ottawa, the search was on to find the most appropriate site for this venture and he eventually settled on a couple of adjacent farms to the east of the capital, overlooking the Ottawa River.

After teaming up with Phillipe and Andre Gagnon to form the company called Threesome, permits were obtained, an architect selected then a two-and-a-half-year construction phase undertaken to build the course and the clubhouse, eventually resulting in a drive in at the 1st hole to open the course on 16th July 1991, almost a decade after the dream of operating a new golf facility had first been conceived.

Designed by Tom McBroom and laid out on rolling terrain, this 18-hole layout is configured with two returning nines, each of which begins with a par five and ends on the same shared, horseshoe-shaped double green in front of the clubhouse. Water comes into play early in the round at the 2nd and 4th holes whilst the split fairway on the 14th offers interesting alternative routes to the green.
