Burghill Valley
Hereford, England- AddressTillington Rd, Hereford HR4 7RW, UK
Situated less than a 15-minute drive from Hereford town centre and nestled in a rural environment of cider orchards, Burghill Valley Golf Club is far removed from the 9-hole course with a Portakabin clubhouse that was in operation back in 1990.
Originally owned and developed by the Barnett family, the golf facility was expanded into an 18-hole course in 1993, with design input from Ray Baldwin of the English Golf Union. The business was purchased by Mark and Elaine Ellis in 2015 and the new owners have since invested considerably in both the course and the clubhouse.
Measuring 6,255 yards from the back markers and playing to a par of 71, the course is configured with two non-returning nines. Highlight holes include the shortest of the par threes at the 127-yard 3rd (where five bunkers protect the green) and the only par five on the inward half at the 495-yard 11th, which plays slightly uphill to the green.
