The Kings Course is the latest layout at BRG Kings Island Golf Resort and it’s a Jack Nicklaus II design that opened for play in 2018, complementing the Lakeside course (1993) and Mountainview course (2004).

The 55-hole golf resort sits only a 1-hour drive from downtown Hanoi, occupying a rather exclusive property around the Dong Mo reservoir and access to the facility is gained by boat.

Holes on the outward half wind their way through wooded terrain, with the inward half routed around several large lakes. Feature holes include the par threes at the 196-yard 4th and 232-yard 17th, both played to well-protected greens.

Each of these short holes are memorable but they pale into relative insignificance when compared to the extra hole at the 19th, another par three that plays from a tee above a rock waterfall to an island green next to the clubhouse.

Jack Nicklaus

Jack Nicklaus will forever be associated with greatness on the golf course, but it’s his design work that should also be remembered in equal measure to his magnificent competitive achievements on the links.
