The Bluffs Golf Resort, originally called “The Bluffs at Thompson Creek” when it first opened as a private facility in 1988, changed ownership twenty years after its formation, enabling golfers to now play the course on a daily green fee basis.
It’s said that Arnold Palmer had eight different routings mapped out before he finally chose the eighteen hole configuration that would form the layout and he set out the fairways in two distinct circuits of nine, allowing water to come into play at almost half the holes on the card.
Designed for championship play from the back markers, The Bluffs course has hosted a number of prestigious amateur events, including the Louisiana State Championships (1991, 1992 and 2002) and the United States Senior Challenge (1997).
