Beverly Golf & Country Club
Hamilton, Ontario- Address1211 2ND Concession Road West,, Box 10, Copetown, ON L0R 1J0, Canada
Established in the late 1950s, Beverly Golf & Country Club had an 18-hole course in play within two years of its formation. Set out on pleasantly undulating terrain to the west of downtown Hamilton, the tree-lined course is regarded as one of Robbie Robinson’s best works, with small, nicely contoured greens.
Doug Carrick carried out some upgrade work on the layout during the late 1990s and since then a number of trees have been removed to allow more light and air onto the greens. More recently, the 17th green was reconstructed by Dick Kirkpatrick and all the bunkers were renovated by Ian Andrew.
The club hosted the seventy-fourth edition of the PGA Seniors’ Championship of Canada in 2014, an event won by Remi Bouchard with an aggregate score of seven under par. The Quebec man birdied the first playoff hole to take the title, overcoming the challenge of two others who had tied on the same score.
