One of four 18-hole designs at the Barton Creek resort, the Fazio Foothills layout - which celebrated the silver anniversary of its inauguration in 2011 - was constructed on an undulating site that permits the routing to change elevation several times during a round.

In The American Private Golf Club Guide Daniel Wexler thinks the course is “a challenging track with a healthy dose of high-octane holes, yet also some less flashy tests to keep things in balance.”

Notable holes include par threes at the downhill 3rd and the 175-yard 9th, which is framed by a canyon and a waterfall. On the back nine, the round ends with a testing par five, where the approach shot is played to a raised green that sits beyond an intimidating ravine.
