Designed by Joe Finger and first opened for play in 1970, the course at Atlas Country Club is located close to Guadalajara airport. Its tree-lined fairways are routed around a couple of lakes, with par threes at the 7th and 14th the most prominent of the water-laden holes.

Arranged as two returning nines, both of which begin with a par five, the course extends to just over 7,000 yards from the back markers. The final five holes feel a little separate, occupying a tract to the southwest of the clubhouse, where the 14th to 16th triangulate around an irrigation lake.

The front nine is routed around the periphery of the main property in a clockwise direction so there’s out of bounds in play on the left side of all of these holes. Highlights here include the long par four 3rd (rated stroke index 1), the par three 14th, with water positioned left of the green, and the left doglegged closing hole.
