Atchafalaya at Idlewild
Patterson, Louisiana- AddressPatterson, LA 70392, USA
Situated on the Cajun Coast, the Atchafalaya at Idlewild course is a von Hagge, Smelek and Baril design that stretches to over 7,500 yards from the back markers. It’s the perfect place to stop off during a Louisiana golf trip in the Atchafalaya Basin of St. Mary Parish.
Highlight holes include the par four 9th and 18th, which play to the same double green in front of the clubhouse, and the short par four 17th, where a late chance of a birdie is on offer. Beware the four par three holes as they all play in excess of 219 yards from the back tees.
The club is a member of Louisiana’s Audubon Golf Trail, featuring more than a dozen great golf courses around the state – including Audubon Park, Black Bear and Carter Plantation – which are all worth exploring.
