A Bill Newcomb design that first opened for play in 1987, Anchorage Golf Course twists and turns across an undulating landscape on the outskirts of the City of Lights and Flowers, where the Chugach Mountain Range forms a fantastic backdrop to the golfing activity.

You might imagine that, with a rather limited playing season, this public course could get pretty busy during the summer months, especially at the weekend, but days are long at that time of year so there’s plenty of opportunity to enjoy a late afternoon or early evening round on this parkland track.

The 177-yard 3rd is a really formidable hole at Anchorage, played to a boomerang-shaped green where tee shots to the left of the pin will fall away down a grassy bank. The par five 6th is another fine hole, with water to the left of the target punishing pulled approach shots.
